New medical centre developed through the LIFT Framework in Werneth, Oldham.
The site sloped steeply and it was necessary to plan the building to accommodate the slope and avoid significant excavation into rock. The building ranged from single to three storeys and was formed using a steel frame with composite concrete / metal deck first floor and low-pitch roof.
The steel frame was selected to provide adequate future flexibility and to accommodate the precise space requirements of the practitioners.
The building was highly commended at the 2012 RICS North West Awards.
