Refurbishment and redevelopment of Landmark Grade II listed structure in a series of projects and phases between 2009 and the present.
The building, originally constructed in the late 19th century, had suffered from a significant lack of maintenance.
The merger of UMIST with the University of Manchester led to consolidation and rearrangement of University research departments - it was essential to ensure that the life of this building would be extended and made fit for purpose for the Universities needs, whilst respecting the buildings heritage.
