Refurbishment and alteration of an existing retail building in the centre of Scunthorpe to accommodate a new Primark store.
The existing building comprised a two storey steel frame with concrete floors and masonry cladding dating from the 1960s. A limited number of record drawings were provided meaning the construction had to be understood by inspection.
The project involved constructing a full third storey on top of the building in place of the existing plantroom areas, along with installation of new lift and escalator shafts.
