This challenging project required the construction of a new Secondary School on the site of the existing Lord Silkin School in Stirchley, Telford, along with a new Primary School.
The location of the buildings on this tight and sloping site were carefully considered to optimise presence, functionality and usefulness of the external environment.
The Secondary school, designed as a large 3 storey steel framed building, to be constructed during the initial stage. Once completed, the Lord Silkin School pupils could transfer into the new building, allowing the existing school to be demolished and the Primary School constructed as a second phase.
