An existing factory has been refurbished to accommodate new mezzanine structures and 3 new overhead crane systems which will service new cleanroom manufacturing facilities for Bespak, a medical products manufacturer.
WML were engaged to assess the existing structures ability to accommodate these works and specify strengthening works as necessary. The buildings existing foundations were assessed for new loading conditions, the steel frames existing stability systems were amended to accommodate manufacturing traffic routes and its superstructure assessed to accommodate new mezzanines and heavy duty walk on ceilings.
The existing ground slab load carrying capacity was proven to be able to accommodate an independent standalone overhead crane structure, thereby alleviating the necessity for new foundations to be formed saving the client considerable time and expense in the delivering the finished works.
