£3.5m design and build where, following Tender, WML were novated to the main contractor.
The building utilised an unusual hybrid structural solution to minimise cost and overall building height over its 3 floors. A steel transfer deck structure was utilised over basement and ground floor areas which contained public spaces enabling a column free aesthetic as requested by the client.
Above, a traditional cellular masonry and timber apartment construction was utilised to minimise structural floor depths whilst providing the client with the cost benefits of a “traditional” construction scheme.
The project achieved Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3, Lifetime Homes and Building for Life Silver Standard.
